YouTube has launched a new comment moderation feature called 'Pause'. Through this, content creators and moderators will be able to block new comments on a video. This will give creators more control over their comments section.
In a blog post, YouTube said, "We're introducing a new, optional comment moderation setting called Pause that will help you, as the creator, control the comment section of a video." However, comments that have already been published will be displayed.
YouTube started testing the new pause feature last October. Now it has been officially launched.
Note that earlier there was no way to completely close comments. Instead, creators or moderators could review comments before they were published or turn off comments for all videos on their channel. With the new feature, they can now be controlled individually for each video.
